Project

Snowmobile knuckle

Taking into consideration the operating environment for this aluminum casting, we generated a project specific digital stress test using FEA (Finite Element Analysis). The unique requirements of this product were weight restrictions and a final shape driven by dynamic clearance requirements. To minimize stress points, material was added, and profiles adjusted within the space available. These tests also had to accommodate for temperature and fatigue over time. The resulting product entered the market quicker and with lower development costs.
